Happy Memorial Day and happy almost June! Although summer doesn't officially start until June 21, Memorial Day is often considered the unofficial start of summer. The last event for the annual (and 50th anniversary) of the IHBC is today, May 30th. With the Iron Horse behind us, the biggest event of the week has us trading in our bikes for rafts. Ready to hit the Animas?
Animas River Days: June 2 - June 5
Think whitewater rodeo, Animas River Days includes "stand-up paddling, river surfing, freestyle kayaking, boatercross, raft and kayak slalom, and the local's favorite costumed river parade." Luckily there's a schedule of events posted here with most events taking place on Saturday, June 4th at Santa Rita Park.

Elegant Garden Party at Sutcliffe Vineyards
Looking for something a little more ... elegant? Sutcliffe Vineyards (in Cortez, CO) is throwing a "sophisticated garden soiree" on Sunday. Featuring live music and great deals on select wines, this sounds like a great time to head over to this favorite semi-local winery.
