June 12 - June 18

You ever have one of those weeks/weekends where you feel like you've lived 5 different lives? I now have... from hiking a new trail in Twin Buttes and discovering a new vantage point I didn't know existed, to a spontaneous trip with friends to Silverton to escape the heat, to accidentally driving to Utah in search of good hikes and fine wine (Sutcliffe Vineyards), teaching a paddling clinic at an alpine lake, to driving up Missionary Ridge and getting temporarily stuck in a snow pile and experiencing (once again) how nobody's a stranger in Durango. Oh and finding the Animas City Cemetery from an unmarked trail, a bucket list item for one of my dear friends who is obsessed with Colorado history. 'Twas one of the most unplanned and yet fun four days I've had. It's times like this that make me think big cities with all of its amenities have nothing on places like Durango, Colorado.
