Things I love about the height of Summer: not having to wear a jacket at night (this doesn't happen for me often), days so long you you feel like you can accomplish anything and still be home before dark, finally being able to wade into the Animas without your feet going numb,
Well ladies and gentlemen, we're in the thick of it. I'm talking about Summer of course. By the way, did anyone catch the 5 minutes of rain we had last week and feel eternally grateful? I did. Things I love about the height of Summer: not having to wear a jacket at night (this doesn't happen for me often), days so long you feel like you can accomplish anything and still be home before dark, finally being able to wade into the Animas without your feet going numb, too many activities and opportunities for fun that it's often hard to choose, the endless sunshine, and for what feels like a betrayal of my winter-self, longing for cooler weather. My how far away our last snowy Winter feels right now. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
Event Spotlight:
Dragon Slayer Beer Release & Armored Combat Party: if that title alone doesn't get your heart racing, I'm not sure what will. Hosted by Ska Brewing.
Durango First Fridays: A celebration of artists and shops located downtown; a good opportunity to check out that store or gallery you've been eyeing.
Gator Fest: A cajun-themed music festival in a small mountain town: what's not to love (or at least be slightly curious about)?
