July 10 - July 16
Guys, I have something very important to tell you. It's mountain season. Yes, that's right. I made it on top of a few mountain peaks yesterday and it made my heart sing. Why? Because we've had so much snow this winter, I honestly thought I'd have to wait until August (or maybe next year.)
Guys, I have something very important to tell you. It's mountain season. Yes, that's right. I made it on top of a few mountain peaks yesterday and it made my heart sing. Why? Because we've had so much snow this winter, I honestly thought I'd have to wait until August (or maybe next year.) But here we are. Now, this is not to encourage you to go out and touch the tallest peak; goodness knows there's still probably a good amount of snow to be found on certain trails. I actually had to gingerly walk across a couple of snow fields yesterday. So as always, check Durango Trails for information, please don't go by yourself and have a way to get help if the need arises. But let this give you hope: The Alpine is open for business!
Event Spotlight:
Free music and BYOB? Look no further than Concerts in the Park, every Thursday at Buckley Park starting at 5:30. I've heard it will be a boot scootin' good time this Thursday.
The annual Summer Brew at Purgatory is coming up this Saturday. I attended this event last year and it was a good time: nice selection of beers (coming from a primarily wine drinker), good music and well-priced tickets.
